This precious time is one of immense anticipation, and fears. Wouldn’t it be nice to have someone to nurture you when things get tough, support you physically and emotionally, and empower you to make good decisions for you and your growing family?

What is a Doula?

Historically, the term “doula” was used in ancient Greece to refer to head female servant of a household. She did not do all the work herself, but she made sure that all the critical tasks were completed.

Today’s doula acts like a road map for pregnant women and their families. She can help you decide what you want your pregnancy and birth to look like and then show you the mutiple paths to get you there. A doula is a mother for the mother and a partner in creating a smooth transition for the entire family.
